Microsoft has rolled out the November update for the Xbox consoles. The update brings “new and improved color filters on Xbox Series X|S, updated volume and audio output settings, new accessibility feature tags in the Microsoft Store, a controller firmware update, updates to the Xbox app (mobile), and an updated Xbox Game Pass layout”, said the company in a blog post..
The colour filters have been designed primarily to help out gamers with colour blindness or colour vision deficiency so that they could play some of the previously inaccessible video games.
All the Xbox consoles will now have options like “Mute speaker audio when headset attached” in Additional options and there is a new Audio testing and details screen too.
As per Microsoft, “The volume and audio output settings have been reorganized to make relevant settings easier to access and help optimize your audio experience. To get started, go to Settings > Audio testing & details. You can check what your audio setup supports and reset if necessary.”
With the new firmware update, the Xbox One Wireless Controller, Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, and Xbox Adaptive Controller will get features that were previously available only on Xbox Series X|S controllers. Microsoft claims that the update will make for better cross-device connectivity and reduced latency.
The November update also brings several fixes to reduce console shutdowns and improve the stability of Xbox Series X consoles when playing games like NBA 2K22, FIFA 22, and Battlefield 2042.
The company also announced that Xbox Cloud Gaming (beta) roll out has commenced for the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One for those with the Game Pass Ultimate subscription
